OKAY, I know I've been absent lately, but with good reason.  This has been my view for about four days and it has been such a treat!  I've spent the past part of the week with five other fabulous moms of fun fourth grade boys WITH the boys on their Spring Break sharing a house on the beach.  I've learned so  much from these other  moms,  as well as from these other  little boys!  There were lots of early morning chats, lots of wiffle ball games, bike rides, cooking, eating and sharing.  Loads of laundry and loads of fun.  There were also lots of morning runs and walks . . . that is. . . for the other moms, but not me.  I was still getting over  my calf issue.   While I limped a little without the boot it was so much better I opted to just stay off it a bit more and fully vacation.  While this is a great idea in theory, and also in practice - taking time off often does make getting back into your regular exercise and workout routine difficult and quite painful!
I was back in action this morning teaching my normal body sculpt class.  I was (secretly) hoping for a small crowd and thinking that would be the case with Spring Break.  I knew I'd been sitting on my bottom and off my foot for a little over a week, so . . .
The class was full and ready for a good, hard workout - as they always are!  Don't you just love that!  Well, I was huffing and puffing and boy did those weights feel heavy!  We did it, though.  Lots of squats, gliders, planks and 50 push ups.  I'll likely feel it tomorrow and that's a good thing.  Being on vacation is a good thing but vacating too long from your routine is not always a great thing.
Therefore, I decided that would be my FIT TIP for this Friday . . .
Enjoy your vacation!  Every second of it!  Read a book, sit in the sun, eat and drink yummy things, but remember, when the vacation is over (and it will eventually end - so sad) don't take too long to get moving and back to eating healthy.  The longer you wait the harder it will be!

You are almost at your 50 push ups!  How's it coming?  Have you ever vacationed TOO long?  Is that possible?
